July

Check out these great winter warming, cool ideas this July.

5 Lands Walk is a FREE event and 2010 is set to be the biggest yet! This award winning event spans a nine kilometre route linking the coastal communities of MacMasters Beach, Copacabana, Avoca Beach, North Avoca and Terrigal, with a program of fun, cultural events and activities connecting the local Aboriginal community with our multi cultural society. The 5 Lands Walk connects people to people, and people to place. Further details on the walk and registration are available on www.5landswalk.com.au

Need a sport fix? Don’t miss all the rugby league action at Bluetongue Central Coast Stadium! The Cronulla Sharks will host Canterbury-Bankstown in Round 17 of the competition, with kickoff at 7:30pm on Saturday 3 July; while Manly-Warringah will host the Wests Tigers in their Round 20 match on Sunday afternoon, 25 July at 3:00pm. Tickets are available now through Ticketek.

Primary school children will love Dip, Dip, Dip Days to pass the time on Tuesdays during the School Holidays. Taking place on July 6th and 13th, the educational program at Mt Penang Gardens is filled with fun and includes kids gardening, dip netting, plant discovery, arts and craft and a range of garden games. Sessions take place at 10:30am and 1:30pm, and run for approximately two hours with all activities being included with the cost of garden entry. Bookings are essential – call 4340 1002.

For all the hunters and gathers, our markets provide the perfect location to obtain the freshest product on the coast.  The Entrance Growers Markets take place on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month, while the Avoca Beach Markets fill in a lazy 1st Sunday mornings of the month. If you miss The Entrance Markets, than schedule in the Gosford markets in Kibble Park on the 2nd Saturdays of the month but remember to be early to get the best and freshest produce.

More fantastic school holiday ideas, events and things to do can be found at www.visitcentralcoast.com.au or call the friendly team at Central Coast Tourism on 4343 4444 for suggestions and advice.
