Festivals and Events on the Central Coast of NSW

The hottest winter yet on the Central Coast!

Although it is the beginning of winter, June is heating up with plenty of action! Break out a sweat on the cultural 5 Lands Walk, heat up the cold nights with a delicious meal and dancing to live music or take in a fantastic flowers show – and it’s not even spring yet!

Put on your comfortable walking shoes, grab some binoculars and take in the annual 5 Lands Walk, held on Saturday 18th June! The 5 Lands Walk is not a race, nor an extreme bushwalk, rather it’s a beautiful journey through and with the communities and landscape of the Central Coast. The moderately easy walk extends for 9 kilometres, starting at Macmasters Beach, winding through Copacabana, North Avoca, Avoca Beach and finishing in Terrigal Haven. Enjoy the cultural activities taking place at each of the five lands, and keep your eyes peeled for the whales migrating north past the coastline! It may be winter, but you don’t have to wait until spring to see flowers in bloom! The Mingara Orchid Club Fair and Show will be held on the weekend of June 25 and 26, and is a combined sales and display event. Check out the spectacular exhibits as Orchid Clubs from around Australia compete for prizes, and will also be selling all species of orchids and hybrids, plus orchid growers’ needs such as pots to the general public. There will also be a display and sales of porcelain and easel art presented by the Porcelain Decorators NSW with proceeds from any sales benefiting cancer research. The event will be held at Mingara Recreation Club, Tumb Umbi and entry is free – head to their website www.mingara.com.au for more info on parking and transport.

Get set for another month of incredible live music on the Central Coast!
