MARY MAC’S PLACE RENO IS COMPLETE THANKS TO HELP FROM OUR AMAZING COMMUNITY
We’ve had just had the fitout completed for our interview room at Mary Mac’s Place.
Mary Mac’s Place Woy Woy is a Not-For-Profit Community Kitchen where volunteers provide a hot lunch, washing and shower facilities and referrals to other services for the homeless and disadvantaged people on the Coast.
The renovation was a wonderful collaboration between Umina Rotary, Umina Bunnings, Umina Beach Men’s Shed and Ettalong Carpets. We’d also like to thank our volunteers who painted the room. A few finishing touches are yet to come, but a heartfelt thank you goes to all involved.
Mary Mac’s Place 100 Blackwall Road, Woy Woy
OPEN TO ANYONE WHO IS DOWN ON THEIR LUCK, HOMELESS OR TRANSIENT
Mary Mac’s supplies a three course sit down meal served to our companions by our wonderful volunteers. But it’s more than just a place to get a meal. Mary Mac’s offers a place to shower and to wash clothes. We offer friendly, non-judgmental support and companionship to help alleviate the isolation that can occur.
Outreach services like Legal Aid, Homeless Connector, emergency relief, and partners in recovery and health assistance are also offered. Tables of rescue food are available as a take home daily for those in need, in addition to food hampers.
Mary Mac’s provides social, community and friendship opportunities for men, women, families, young people, the elderly, and the socially and economically disadvantaged.
It is an initiative of St John the Baptist Church, Woy Woy, and is managed and operated by CatholicCare.
