TINY HOMES, BIG OUTCOMES..

Fairhaven-Tiny-HomesFairhaven Services, who provide employment, community and residential support for people living with disability on the Central Coast, collaborated with the Tiny Homes team, in making some of the innovative furniture solutions for the project. “It was inspiring to see the four new residences open their doors today in this pilot project” said Monique Cardon, CEO of Fairhaven Services “I’m sure this is only the beginning of this particular inspiring solution to homelessness and affordable housing” she said.

The tables and chairs were hand crafted by the team at ReCreate, an award winning social enterprise of Fairhaven Services. What makes ReCreate so unique, is not just the craftsmanship and the recycling of materials, but the initiative offers people living with disabilities a rewarding employment opportunity. “The team have done an excellent job with the recycled pallet tables and box seats” said David Wooldridge CEO of Tiny Homes Foundation.

Glenn Cannard from Central Coast Council was excited to see two local social enterprises collaborating like this, helping make the Tiny Homes spaces so functional. “It is a perfect outcome of our Launch Pad Program helping to bring these two great initiatives together.”
ReCreate furniture is available from Fairhaven’s Vintage Fair op shop, a thriving retail shopping village at Point Clare as well as a pop up shop at Erina Fair.
